Following Team Taiwan’s championship win at the 2024 WBSC Premier 12, the Digital Affairs Bureau of the Taichung City Government hosted a festive children’s games event on 1st of December to celebrate the public holiday. The event, held in Tanzi District, combined sports with parent-child activities to promote the “TCPASS” app and its convenient online services. Attracting over 4,500 participants, the event showcased the app’s new features, including interactive games such as a lucky draw, a reality treasure hunt, and a stamp collection activity. The initiative aimed to foster community engagement while promoting sustainability and digital innovation in Taichung.
Lin Klon, Director of the Digital Affairs Bureau, emphasized the bureau’s commitment to serving residents with innovative solutions. From implementing a vaccine reservation system during the pandemic to integrating the TCPASS app into daily life, the bureau continues to enhance convenience for citizens. The Taichung Shopping Festival further highlights the app’s capabilities, enabling users to import invoices, redeem prizes, and claim rewards online. Additionally, the bureau organizes in-person events to raise awareness about the app’s diverse features, ensuring citizens are well-informed about the many ways they can benefit from TCPASS.
Director Lin announced that over 1,000 stores have partnered with the Taichung City Government to offer exclusive discounts to TCPASS members. These benefits include local delicacies, renowned souvenirs, appliances, hotels, and more. Famous brands collaborating with the TCPASS app include Domino’s Pizza, Like Tea Shop, 50 Lan, Wuma Yakiniku, and Howard Hotel. For the first time, these partner stores were featured as part of a family-oriented activity. The event showcased six beloved Taichung vendors, including Houli Carpenter & Sisters Woodworking Workshop, LI CHA PIN JI, Vanilla Knight Chocolate House, and HouChaChaYin. Booths offered an array of local treats, such as tea, mochi, and cheese, allowing children and adults to savor Taichung’s culinary delights while enjoying a fun and engaging atmosphere.
The Digital Affairs Bureau announced that the TCPASS Kids’ Games offered an exciting lineup of activities, including sports-themed obstacle courses and engaging stage performances. Children’s favorite performers, including popular characters Mr. Banana, Miss Cloud, and the Leopard Cat Family, attended the games to entertain young participants. The event promised a fun-filled day for parents and children to enjoy together, fostering family bonding and community spirit in Tanzi District.
