NTT(National Taichung Theater) will launch the second part form the cycle Der Ring des Nibelungen(The Ring of the Nibelung),by Richard Wagner --- Die Walküre on October 11th ,13th and 15th .

Die Walküre(The Valkyrie) is the second of the four music dramas that form the cycle Der Ring des Nibelungen(The Ring of the Nibelung),by Richard Wagner. The boxes of Das Rheingold(The Rhinegold),the first part in the cycle, was so successful last year that the NTT(National Taichung Theater) will launch the second part— Die Walküre for three days, on October this year. It will be shown in four parts over the course of four years and is the first time the entire opera has been performed in Asia.

Die-Walküre is one of the Wagner’s best-known opera and is also the program that audiences should not miss from this series in NTT this year.

The story is based on Nordic mythology and focuses on family and love. ‘Ride of the Valkyrie’, at the beginning of act 3 of Die Walküre, is often heard as a purely instrumental version. It is also one of the Wagner’s best-known pieces. This year, NSO(National Symphony Orchestra) will bring this outstanding opera to Taichung with theater group Fura dels Baus, which has been described as the future of musical theater by German newspaper, Die Zeit.

‘ Grand Tours with Theater Titans’ will bring a series of sensational programs to Taichung this autumn. The partnership between one of the leading symphony orchestra in Asia and a reknowned Spanish troupe will highlight the sensitive side of Wagner. Die Walküre is the program that audiences should not miss from this series in Taichung. Wagner’s Ring has been described as ‘timeless’ and NTT believes that this program will bring unforgettable and timeless memories to people who watch this program later this year.
