The 19th Annuel Taichung Mazu International Cultural Festival-Twelve ‘Century Temples’ Will Show Their Magnificence

The activities of 2017 Taichung Mazu International Cultural Festival at twelve century temples start from January 31st and continue until May 20th.

Taichung Mazu International Cultural Festival causes excitement every year. The activities of this year’s festival at twelve century temples start from January 31st and continue until May 20th. It is being held in twelve major century-old temples in Taichung.

Taichung City Government held a press conference and invited all citizens to enjoy the Mazu festival’s performances to learn more about Mazu. Not only are there performances, there are also many activities. For example, there is a Mazu painting competition, an international seminar, a book publishing event and parade formation. All the shows are performed by local groups. This experience can help Taichung performance groups improve their ability.

The first stop was at Xinshe Kaozhung Ma Temple on January 31st. This activities attracted a lot of people. There are four other exciting shows: at Taichung Le Cheng Temple on February 10th and at Nantun Wanhe Temple, Dazhung Haotian Temple and Dajia Chenlan Temple on February 11th.

Additionally, Wuci Chaoyuan Temple, Taichung Wanchun Temple, Fengyuan Tzu Chi Temple, Sheikuo Wanxing Temple, Beitun Nanhing Temple, Tatu Wanxing Temple and Daliyi Fuxing Temple are going to arrange performances in April and May.

Raffles will take place in each of the ‘century temples’ this year except Dajia Chenlan Temple. You can get raffle tickets at the service desk before every activity starts but there is a limited supply.
